Colleagues: Thank you for your service!  During this, Public Service Recognition Week, Greater Boston Federal Executive Board (GBFEB) Chair Diane LeBlanc is pleased to announce our 7th annual scholarship. This program enables us to not only to honor the work and dedication of 3 local employees whom we lost this year but also is intended to to benefit current employees and / or their family members who may need assistance with paying for a post-secondary education.

The GBFEB will present 2 one-time scholarships of $1000 in memory of in 2012:
  • US Department of Labor - Howie Carney
  • IRS Andover Campus - Denise Hersey & IRS Andover Campus - Michael (Mike) Rizk
Who Can Apply?
All Federal employees, of all branches, working any capacity in Federal agencies, or active duty, with duty stations within the six New England states, and their dependent children, who are seeking a post-secondary degree are eligible to apply. Each applicant must submit an original 300 word testimonial addressing the prescribed topic.

When: 9/6/12, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Cost: $30 per person

The recent issuance of two high-priority Executive Orders, Diversity and Inclusion in the Federal Workforce (August 2011) and Increasing Employment of Individuals with Disabilities (October 2011,) respectively, have brought diversity and inclusion to the forefront of our workplace agenda. To that end, this broad-based training will help all of us will help all of us understand things like unconscious bias and how it impacts decision-making; what diversity means and what it does not and more.

Mr. Monclure will lead the audience through self-exploration and help us better understand what we can do at the individual and organizational levels, to advance and understand diversity and inclusion.




Meeting Schedules

The GBFEB Board of Directors meets on the second Tuesday of every other month.

Diversity Committee
Note that the Diversity Committee routinely meets, in person, on the first Thursday of every month from 9-10:30 a.m. Conference calls are scheduled for the 3rd Thursday of each month. These are subject to change with advanced notice.

Local Federal Coordinating Committee (LFCC)
The LFCC typically meets regularly on the first Monday of each month at 2 p.m. Changes are announced in advance.
